Water richness detection technology for burnt rock in Hexingliang Coal Mine based on geophysical-geological multi-parameter fusion

  • The highly water-rich burnt rock aquifer above the 3−1 coal seam in Hexingliang Coal Mine threatens safe mining. A single geophysical prospecting method for delineating water richness suffers from non-uniqueness and low accuracy, so interpretation precision needs to be improved to ensure mine safety. Taking Hexingliang Coal Mine as the study area, this paper integrates transient electromagnetic apparent resistivity (geophysical) with burnt rock floor relief and thickness (geological) parameters, eliminates dimensional differences through range normalization, and reconstructs the criteria for delineating water-rich anomalies through different weight combinations, thereby achieving multi-parameter collaborative delineation of the water-rich range in burnt rock. The water-rich anomaly zones delineated after multi-parameter fusion analysis are significantly consistent with the actual hydrogeological conditions of the mine (borehole leakage, pumping test data, and unit water inflow from supplementary exploration boreholes). A total of one extremely strong water-rich zone, two strong water-rich zones, and three moderate water-rich zones were identified, effectively correcting the classification deviations caused by the "single-hole perspective" in the interpretation of a single apparent resistivity parameter. The results show that the geophysical-geological multi-parameter fusion technology can reduce the ambiguity of a single geophysical method and improve detection accuracy, providing an effective approach for delineating water-rich anomaly zones in coal mines.
