Spatial discretization evolution model of coal quantity distribution state for belt conveyors

Abstract
Belt conveyors are the main artery of coal transportation, and their intelligent control is a core link in green mine construction. Existing measurement methods can only obtain local instantaneous coal quantities, making it difficult to describe the global distribution state and evolution trend of coal quantity on a belt conveyor, which has become a bottleneck restricting further breakthroughs in intelligent control algorithms. To address this problem, this paper proposes a spatial discretization evolution model of coal quantity distribution state. First, the belt conveyor is divided into several discrete units at equal intervals along the length direction, and a state vector is constructed to characterize the coal load of each discrete unit, thereby achieving a spatially discretized description of the continuous coal flow on the belt conveyor. Then, taking the instantaneous coal quantity at the tail and the belt speed as input variables, and based on the forward migration mechanism of coal quantity, an evolution model of coal quantity distribution state is constructed, realizing real-time updating calculation of the coal quantity distribution state of the belt conveyor. Experimental results show that under the dual time-varying conditions of instantaneous coal quantity at the tail and belt speed, the normalized root mean square error between the model output and measured data is only 2.17%, and the Pearson correlation coefficient reaches 0.996, verifying the high accuracy and engineering applicability of the model.
